Poetry & Music
Poems and music are both rich sources of imagery and
mood. Here are some of my etchings of poems by Yeats, Frost and
Coleridge together with a watercolour based on Cavafy’s “Ithaca”.
Claude Debussy was inspired by Estampes (Prints!) in some of his
piano music and it pleased me to come full circle and to interpret
his musical ideas with my prints. “Clair de Lune””
is from “Suite Bergamasque”, “Reflets dans L’eau”
and “Poissons d’or” are from “Images”.
“Rehearsing Elgar in Dunster Church” now hangs in the
Tithe Barn, Dunster, kindly donated by the late Mrs.D.Pugsley.
