I have been connected with Greece for many years and remember clearly the first impact of that amazing light and the archaeology (no, they are not bales of straw lying by the road, they are marble blocks from temples) and casting Byron's name , as scratched by him, on the temple at Sounion and the sound of sheep bells and the scent of herbs underfoot.....it was all a revelation. I have made a lot of pictures of Greece, these are some of the ones I have in my studio.
